In their words

Advance praise

What HR leaders, founders, and executives are saying after reading the series.

For the HR Foundations Playbook

“I have had the privilege of working with Filipino talent for more than 10 years, supporting a hyper-growth technology company in significantly expanding its footprint in the Philippines and building a fintech customer service team there. The special ingredient on both occasions was Ioni Mendoza, now a co-founder and CEO of Amorsolo Consulting. Ioni is a senior HR practitioner with local expertise and extensive experience working with and educating multinational leadership. This ebook demonstrates the depth of her knowledge and brings Philippine Labor Law to life with real examples, checklists, and learning points. Whether you're starting or expanding your team in the Philippines, this will give you a significant head start, as will a conversation with Ioni and Amorsolo Consulting.”

Caroline MartinGlobal HR Leader

“The HR Foundations Playbook offers founders, business leaders, and HR practitioners in the Philippines a comprehensive, practical guide drawn from decades of real-world experience. It goes far beyond mere compliance, providing clear explanations of the risks, choices, and interventions that shape everyday decisions, all in accessible language for non-HR professionals. As organizations expand and the complexity of HR and labor compliance grows, this resource serves as an invaluable roadmap, empowering leaders to make confident, well-informed decisions and helping companies avoid costly mistakes as they scale.”

Kamal AsarpotaChief Executive Officer, Eastvantage

“Building a compliant team in the Philippines is harder than most founders expect—and the consequences of getting it wrong show up late, often as NLRC cases or surprise statutory obligations. The HR Foundations Playbook is one of the few resources that takes the full regulatory landscape seriously while keeping it accessible. It doesn't just cite the law—it connects the legal framework to the actual decisions founders and HR practitioners face at every stage, from hiring and documentation to benefits, due process, and offboarding. Whether you're running a local entity, working through an EOR, or still figuring out your setup, this is the kind of grounded, practical reference that belongs on every Filipino founder's desk.”

For the HR Foundations Mini-Guides

“I've just finished reading the HR Mini Guides and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to build strong HR foundations in their organization. They offer clear, practical guidance on core HR principles. They are especially valuable for leaders and practitioners navigating growing or evolving workplaces.”

Anne DucutHead of HR, Multi-local Dairy Company

“Overall, I found the assigned guides highly practical, founder-friendly, and grounded in the realities of running and scaling organizations in the Philippines. Compared to many HR and labor compliance materials that feel overly academic or legalistic, these guides successfully translate compliance into operational language that founders, managers, and SME leaders can actually understand and apply.”

Ace GapuzCEO, Blogapalooza

“The individual guides are very helpful—not too lengthy. Good that the resources and websites are provided. Sometimes these are the ones that are quite challenging to find, especially the labor laws and government rules.”

Kristian Jewel TaiñoHR Manager, Maritime/Ship Management

“The HR mini-guides are presented in an organized and practical manner that applies to navigating people and organizational needs.”

Charmaine UalHR Manager, Financial Services

“I love how simple and practical the HR Mini Guides are. You can really see Ioni's years of HR experience in the way she makes even complex topics easier to understand and apply. A really helpful resource for HR professionals!”

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What format do the e-books come in?

Each title is currently available as an EPUB, compatible with most e-readers and reading apps, including Kindle (via "Send to Kindle"), Apple Books, Google Play Books, and Kobo.

Where do I actually buy the e-books?

Each "View / Buy on Lulu" button takes you to that title's official Lulu product page, where checkout, payment, and delivery are handled directly by Lulu. The series will also be available through additional global distribution channels soon.

Do I need to read the Playbook and Mini-Guides in order?

No. The Mini-Guides are designed as standalone modules — start with whichever HR topic is most urgent for your organization. The Playbook brings the full series together into a single structured reference if you prefer one comprehensive guide. If you'd like a quick read on where to start first, the "HR Compliance Health Check" mini-guide works as an assessment guide — a fast scan of your current HR risks and priorities to help you decide which topic to tackle next.

Does this series help me decide how to structure my HR setup?

Yes. The series covers different starting pathways for organizations — whether you choose to build your own in-house HR team, or opt to work with an Employer of Record (EOR) or independent contractors first.

Who is this series for?

HR practitioners, start-up founders, entrepreneurs, and local or remote people managers — anyone responsible for building or strengthening HR in a Philippine-based organization.

Is this series specific to Philippine HR law?

Yes. The series is built around Philippine labor law, DOLE requirements, and statutory benefits such as SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG, with content aimed at organizations operating in the Philippines.

Is this legal advice?

No. These guides are educational resources on Philippine HR practice and compliance, not a substitute for legal advice. For matters specific to your organization, consult a qualified lawyer.

Are the e-books accessible for screen readers and assistive technology?

Each EPUB was prepared with accessibility in mind and reviewed using the Ace by DAISY automated accessibility checker, with a logical reading order, structured headings, and table-of-contents navigation. Reading experience can still vary by device, app, and assistive technology.

Can I order copies for my whole team?

Yes — see the Corporate & Bulk Purchase section above to send us your requirements.
